EL3D® PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a thermoplastic polymer that it is derived from renewable resources, cornstarch or sugar cane. Plastics that are derived from biomass are known as bioplastics. PLA is a fully biodegradable thermoplastic polymer consisting of renewable raw materials.
PLA is easily the most popular material for 3D printing and it’s easy to see why. PLA is very easy to use and is very forgiving for the less experienced user. PLA also comes in an array of different materials with slightly different characteristics as well as a plethora of colors.
